Modern Language Majors to Deliver Capstone Presentations

Eleven Westminster College French and Spanish majors will give their capstone presentations in the Witherspoon Maple Room of the McKelvey Campus Center. The presentations are free and open to the public.

Students scheduled Monday, April 27, include:

Marissa Young speaking at 3:15 p.m. on "A Comparison of the History of Women in France and Spain in the 20th Century."

Kenneth Cloonan speaking at 3:45 p.m. on "Destroying the Hierarchy: Come One and All!"

Brittany Kuttesch speaking at 4:15 p.m. on "Language Education in American Schools: Bilingualism vs. English Immersion."

Colleen Lataille speaking at 4:45 p.m. on "Better Education Now! Student Protests in Chile."

Students scheduled Wednesday, April 29, include:

Jessica Hickman speaking at 3:15 p.m. on "Corruption Hindering the Economic Growth in Argentina's Economy."

Rebecca Baily speaking at 3:45 p.m. on "The Otavalos and their Transnational Culture: The Struggle to Define an Identity in a Globalizing World."

Mandy Myer speaking at 4:15 p.m. on "Losing Ground: An Analysis of Catholicism in Central America."

Students scheduled Monday, May 4, include:

Christine Clawges speaking at 3:15 p.m. on "Bullfighting: A Spanish Tradition."

Kimberly Swihart speaking at 3:45 p.m. on "Return Directive: An Incentive to Leave." 

Megan Alexander speaking at 4:15 p.m. on "A Deadly Cycle-The U.S. and Mexico's War on Drugs Incorporating the Mérida Initiative."

Abby Montgomery speaking at 4:45 p.m. on "Early Exposure to Other Languages: The Development of Foreign Languages and Cognitive Abilities in Children."
