Concert Choir Presents "Music & Meatballs"

Posted on Wednesday, September 24, 2008

The Westminster College Concert Choir will present the eighth annual "Music and Meatballs" Friday, Oct. 3, at the New Wilmington Presbyterian Church. Patrons may choose from three seating times: 4:30 p.m., 5:45 p.m., and 7 p.m.

This year's musical and decoration theme is "Disney." Dinner includes spaghetti and meatball, salad, bread, dessert, hot and cold beverages, and a variety of music made popular by Disney movies.

Senior music education majors Kevin Shields will be master of ceremonies and Christopher Granger will accompany the singers.

"Forty-nine Westminster students participate in this fundraiser," said Dr. Robin Lind, director of choral activities. "Beth Brooks, a member of the Student Affairs office staff, helps with dishwashing every year. This event helps to support the choir's winter tour, which will include Lynchburg, Va., and a number of locations in Florida. We will be traveling Jan. 7-17."

Tickets are $12 for adults and $7 for seniors, students, and children. Reservations are encouraged and can be made by calling (724) 946-7270. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door and take-outs will also be available.

Contact Lind at (724) 946-7278 or e-mail lindra@westminster.edu for additional information.
