Symphonic Band Sets Concert

The Westminster College Symphonic Band will present its first concert of the spring semester Friday, Feb. 15, at 7:30 p.m. in Orr Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.

The band is under the direction of Dr. R. Tad Greig, Westminster College assistant professor of music and director of bands.

Selections on the program include: "Military Symphony in F" by Francois Joseph Gossec, arranged by Robert Leist; "Prelude and Fugue in D Minor" by Johann Sebastian Bach, arranged by Ronald Moehlmann; "Celtic Hymns and Dances" by Eric Ewazen; "In the Bleak Midwinter" by Gustav Holst, using text from poet Christina Rossetti, and arranged by Robert W. Smith; "March: Winds" by Clare Grundman; and "Variations on a Korean Folk Song" by John Barnes Chance.
