Westminster College's ninth annual Mardi Gras Carnival is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 1, from 6-8 p.m. in the Witherspoon Rooms of the McKelvey Campus Center. There is no admission fee and the event is open to the public.

Highlights of this family-friendly event include carnival activity booths hosted by nearly 30 student organizations; free mask making; live jazz with the Westminster Jazz Ensemble; caricatures and henna art; and introduction of Mardi Gras royalty, who will give free beads. Most activities are free of charge, but carnival booths do require quarters.

The king and queen of the Mardi Gras will be elected by an all-campus vote and will be announced at the event.

The carnival is sponsored by the Student Alumni Association (SAA), the Campus Programming Committee (CPC), and the Student Government Association (SGA).
