Westminster College Music Faculty to Give Recital

Westminster College will host a faculty recital for flute, organ, and voice on Friday, Jan. 25, at 7 p.m. in Wallace Memorial Chapel. The concert is free and open to the public.

William Ambert, tenor, is an adjunct faculty member in Westminster's Music Department. He is active with several churches in Youngstown: as a cantorial soloist at Rodef Sholom; soloist at First Presbyterian Church and St. Columba Cathedral; and director of music at St. Jude's. He earned an undergraduate degree from Youngstown State University.

Kathryn Miller, Westminster College organist, is on the faculty at Youngstown State University; director of music at Boardman United Methodist Church; organist at Rodef Sholom; and accompanist for Seraphim Community Chorus and the Youngstown Symphony Chorus. She earned undergraduate degrees from Ohio State University and Youngstown State University and a master's from the University of Cincinnati.

Kathleen Schott, flutist with the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra, has a private studio in Pittsburgh and is on the faculties at Westminster and Carnegie Mellon University. She earned an undergraduate degree from Carnegie Mellon University and a master's from Rice University's Shepherd School of Music.

Miller and Schott will premiere "Lament," a work for organ and flute composed by local teacher and musician Lois Hopkins.
