William Brandt, former site supervisor in Westminster College's Department of Public Safety, was promoted to Director of Public Safety.

In this position, Brandt is responsible for the overall administration of departmental activities for the College. He replaces John Lechner, who resigned following his election as a Mercer County commissioner.

Brandt served as a Pennsylvania State Police officer for 31 years prior to joining the Westminster staff in 2001. He holds a degree in the administration of justice from the University of Pittsburgh.

"We are delighted to have Bill lead the Public Safety department," said Dr. Neal Edman, dean of student affairs. "He has proven to be a solid leader who brings to the position professionalism and a sincere concern for the welfare of our students and campus community."
