Posted on Wednesday, April 25, 2007

Suny Press recently published "The International Eliade" edited by Dr. Bryan Rennie, the Vira I. Heinz Professor in Religion at Westminster College.

"This is the fourth book that I have published on Mircea Eliade," Rennie said. "I have one monograph in 1996, one critical reader in 2006, which anthologizes essays by and about Eliade for the beginning researcher, and now two collections of essays about Eliade by contemporary scholars of religion."

Rennie's latest book, "The International Eliade" is a collection of essays from authors from non-English speaking countries including Japan, Korea, Romania, France, Germany, Norway, Belgium, and Italy.

"This completes the set and finishes my major publishing project on Eliade, although I will continue to contribute papers and articles on him to a variety of conferences and journals," Rennie said.

Rennie, who has been with Westminster College since 1994, is an associate professor of religion. He earned his undergraduate degree, master's and Ph.D. from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland.
