Two Music Majors to Perform Recital

Westminster College juniors Sheila Barnhart, a music performance major, and Amber Kunder, a music education and elementary education major, will present a recital Monday, April 30, at 7:30 p.m. in Wallace Memorial Chapel.

Barnhart's junior capstone piano program includes Frederic Chopin's "Ballade in G minor, Op. 23," and Ludwig Van Beethoven's "Sonata in F minor, Op. 57 Appassionata.'"

Barnhart is a daughter of Rick and Darleen Barnhart of New Freeport and a graduate of West Greene High School. During her time at Westminster, Barnhart has been involved in Concert Choir, Women's Chorus, the Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, and Chamber Music. She recently competed in the Music Teachers' National Association's Young Artists' Piano Performance Competition, and is a teacher with the Westminster College Music Intern Teaching Program.

Kunder's flute program includes Ernest Bloch's "Suite Modale for Flute and Piano;" Camille Saint-Saens' "Airs De Ballet D'Ascanio;" and Aaron Copland's "Duo for Flute and Piano."

Kunder is a daughter of David and Teresa Kunder of Poland, Ohio, and is a graduate of Boardman High School. During her time at Westminster, Kunder has been involved in Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, Marching Band, Women's Choir, and Women's Chamber Ensemble, and Sigma Kappa sorority. She teaches with the Westminster College Music Intern Teaching Program and is the treasurer of Mu Phi Epsilon, the music fraternity.

Kathryn Miller, the college organist, will accompany both Kunder and Barnhart.
