Student to Perform Senior Piano Recital

Caitlyn Preston, a senior elementary education and music major at Westminster College, will perform her senior piano recital Saturday, April 21, at 3 p.m. in Orr Auditorium.

Preston's program includes Frederick Chopin's "Waltz in C Minor, Op. 64, No. 2;" Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's "Concerto No. 21 in C Major, K. 467 Andante;" Franz Schubert's Moment Musical, Op. 94, No. 3;" Sergei Youferoff's "Elegie, Op. 1, No. 3;" Georges Bizet's "Jeux d'Enfants Op. 22 for Piano, Four Hands "La Poupee;" Claude Debussy's "Petite Suite for Piano, Four Hands Menuet;" and Robert Schumann's "Phantasiestucke, Op. 12, No. 4 Grillen.'"
Sheila Barnhart, a junior music performance major from New Freeport, will accompany Preston on piano for three of the numbers.

Preston, daughter of Gary and Beth Preston of Greenville, is a graduate of Reynolds High School. She studies piano with Dr. Nancy Zipay DeSalvo, chair of the Westminster Department of Music. During her time at Westminster, Preston has participated in the Westminster College Piano Showcase Recitals and the Concerto and Aria Competitions. She has been involved in the Student Alumni Association, Residence Life, Sigma Kappa Sorority, the women's chorus, and the music intern teaching program. Preston has been nominated for Who's Who Among College Students, is on the Dean's List and is a member of the honor societies Omicron Delta Kappa and Pi Sigma Pi.
