Students Compete in Math Competition

Posted on Monday, April 9, 2007

Eleven Westminster College students recently competed at the 10th annual East Central Colleges (ECC) Undergraduate Mathematics Competition in Tiffin, OH.

The competition consisted of teams of three or four students working as groups to take a three-hour exam. The exam was written and graded by a mathematician at Concordia College of Minnesota specifically for this contest, and consisted of 10 problems, ranging from a problem or two that nearly everyone should have been able to solve, to a couple which were of Putnam level and were likely to separate out the most exceptional students.
