Westminster College Announces Faculty Promotions and Tenure

The Westminster College Board of Trustees has awarded promotions and tenure to five faculty members effective July 1.

Dr. Linda Domanski, assistant professor of education since 1996, has been awarded tenure. Domanski earned her undergraduate and master's degrees from Slippery Rock University, and her Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh.

Dr. Elizabeth A. Ford, who has been with Westminster since 1989, was promoted to professor of English. She earned her undergraduate and master's degrees from Youngstown University, and her Ph.D. from Kent State University.

Dr. Russell E. Martin, who has been with Westminster since 1996, was promoted to associate professor of history and was awarded tenure. Martin earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Pittsburgh, and his master's and Ph.D. from Harvard University.

Dr. James C. Rhoads, Jr., who has been with Westminster since 1992, was promoted to associate professor of political science. Rhoads earned his undergraduate, master's and Ph.D. from Kent State University.

Dr. Virginia Tomlinson, who has been with Westminster since 1996, was promoted to associate professor of sociology and was awarded tenure. Tomlinson earned her undergraduate degree from Birmingham Southern College, her master's from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and her Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh.

The Board also approved sabbaticals for Dr. Ford; Dr. Phyllis Kitzerow, professor of sociology; Dr. Warren Hickman, professor of mathematics; Kathy Koop, professor of art; Dr. Jeffrey Kripal, associate professor of religion; Dr. Bryan Rennie, associate professor of religion and philosophy; and Dr. Timothy Wooster, associate professor of chemistry and chair of the department.
