Westminster College Offers Continuing Education Classes

Westminster College announces several personal enrichment and leisure courses for the community residents. Continuing Education classes and seminars are non-credit and are open to all interested individuals. Formal admission to Westminster College is not required.

Beginning Word is scheduled Tuesday and Thursday, Oct. 15 and 17, at 5:30 p.m., and is taught by Joe Ann Miller. This session covers, editing, formatting, saving, and printing using Microsoft Word.

Intermediate Word is scheduled Tuesday and Thursday, Oct. 22 and 24, at 5:30, and is taught by Joe Ann Miller. Take this session as a follow-up to Beginning Word or a refresher course for those comfortable with Microsoft Word.

Power Point is scheduled Monday and Wednesday, Oct. 22 and 24, at 5:30 p.m., and is taught by Mary Mowery. This class teaches how to create professional presentations using Microsoft Power Point software.

Excel is scheduled Mondays and Wednesdays, Oct. 14-23, at 6 p.m., and is taught by Nelson Boosel. This class will review how to create spreadsheets, formulas and formats, charts, and maps using Microsoft Excel software.

Computers for Seniors Step III is scheduled Tuesday-Thursday, Oct. 1-3, at 4:30, and is taught by Mary Dado. In this session, students will learn to use the programs menu, keyboard shortcuts, and terminology.

E-Mail for Seniors is scheduled Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 6:30 p.m., and is taught by Mary Dado. This class will go over how to create messages, send attachments, use the address book, and more.

Internet for Seniors is scheduled Thursday, Oct. 10 at 4:30 p.m., and is taught by Mary Dado. This class will examine common Internet terminology, the World Wide Web, web sites, browsers, and how to work them.

Enjoying Fine Music is scheduled Saturdays, Oct. 12 and 19, at 4 p.m., and is taught by Dan Didesiderio III. This fun and relaxing class focuses on symphonic and orchestral music.

Gentle, Total, and Power Yoga continues with session B for all classes. Gentle, which moves through the poses of Yoga slowly and gently, begins Oct. 23. Total Yoga picks up the speed of gentle yoga, and Power yoga increases the speed and length of time poses are held.
