Dr. Kent Carter, associate professor of business administration at Westminster College, will discuss "Apartheid and Reconciliation in South African" Thursday, Oct. 3, at 4 p.m. in Ferguson Hall Lobby.

Carter recently traveled to South Africa to attend a Council on International Education Exchange program, "Nation Building in South Africa."

"The unrelenting effort of all the oppressed people in South Africa brought about a dramatic change there that has resulted in the adoption of the most progressive, liberal, human-rights oriented constitution on earth today," said Carter. "Hope is truly all-powerful."

Carter, who is also the Captain William McKee Chair of Economics and Business, has been with Westminster College since 1991. He earned his undergraduate and master's degree from the University of Northern Colorado, his M.B.A. from the University of Maine, and his Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Carter at (724) 946-7164 or e-mail carterkd@westminster.edu.
