Theatre Westminster presents its second show of the season, Rashomon, Thursday-Saturday, March 1-3, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, March 4, at 3 p.m. in Beeghly Theater.

"Rashomon, set over 1000 years ago near Kyoto, Japan, is a mystery about lust, seduction, murder, and ultimately truth," said Brad Dell, junior theatre major from Greensburg. "Sword fights, voices from the dead, and stunning technical achievements highlight this enchanting production."

The play features senior Matthew Nichols as the wretched bandit, Tajamaru, senior Mamiko Nakata as the seemingly innocent and abused wife, and freshman Andrew Huston who dawns the robes of the powerful Samarai husband. Other members of the cast of include senior Jennifer Smith, sophomores Justin Kurtz and Brian Barrett, and first-year students Courtney Lovich, Lorraine Washington, Phillip Webster, and Sara Kimbell.

"Rashomon is like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon without the subtitles," said Rachel Heleson, assistant student director.

Paul Kimpel of Youngstown, Ohio, who makes his Theatre Westminster debut, directs the show.

The performances are open to the public at a minimal fee and free to members of the Westminster Community. For ticket reservations, contact the box office at (724) 946-7241 between Feb. 26 and March 2, noon-2 p.m.
